tough manes crowning
inexorable obsidian eyes
a loud roar yearning to
escape my captive heart
painfully raw as truest truth
how long have i been
trapped in the lion’s den?
how much longer have i
blinded by dark delusion
thought the lion was me?
no herculean effort saves
me from this here defeat
