Poem | Prayer For The Unaccepted

I accept you as my father
the one and only one
with all your flaws and misconceptions
I welcome you to be
mine

I accept you as my mother
the one and only one
with your mistakes and dark deceptions
I welcome you to be
mine

I accept you as my sisters
the ones and only ones
with words like daggers and wrong perceptions
I welcome you to be
mine

I accept you as my body
the one and only one
with a skin too thin and countless imperfections
I welcome you to be
mine

I accept you as my soul
the one and only one
mixing thoughts with emotional inflictions
I welcome you to be
mine

sometimes feeling broken or ungrown
all my parts on their own
are mine and mine alone

I’m writing a a collection of poems. It’s going to be called Solitude in Red and will span 13 months, going from October to October. The fourth theme is Acceptance and the poem up there is part of the collection.
